ONTARIO CUP 2008

Post  kids1st on Sun Mar 02, 2008 12:10 am

The Ontario Cup is the most exciting tournament going, due mainly to the number of participants from all across the province. If I remember correctly, last year's U12G group had 44 teams entered.

Group hosts for the 2008 Ontario Cup have been published on the OSA website.
They can be found in their tournament rules section.

Here are the hosts for the U13 Girls:

Ajax
Aurora
Barrie
Sarnia
Scarborough
St.Catharines
Thunder Bay
Vaughan
Windsor

Thank God Aurora is hosting. Save us a possible trip to Thunder Bay, Windsor or Sarnia.

Hope your team is lucky enough to avoid big Thunder! Shocked

I expect Aurora will plan a lot of games on the artificial turf at Shepperd's Bush!

I undertstand that the final host locations are established based on number of entries. So TB could be cut still. pale

Also, with the snowpack being what it is this year, we might have a hard time hosting a round in Orangeville by that time. I can only imagine the knee deep snow conditions in TB come end of May.

Joke, but a few years back (15 or so), I remember racing across a lake on May 24 weekend with a snow squall moving in on us. So you never really know do you? Question

Nice pic. Kid looks familiar. Very Happy

Not to mention a fine of over $1,000 and a ban of some length .. I wonder if anyone has ever looked at whether the total entries are lower when Thunder Bay hosts .. no offence to the great folks up north who are the perfect example of commitment and sacrifice when it comes to travelling, but I heard that they may not even have a team in this age group .. Shocked

If that is true, then why would they even ask to host?

Not sure I understand the motive.

Yes it is the Ontario Cup, and it is a big, big, big province, but I think we should make OSA executives attend any rounds played, regardless of location. Should TB host, I will look forward to hearing who showed up from the OSA! monkey
